Yoshi goes to Portland!

yoshiMy husband and I just moved from Fort Collins, CO to Portland, OR, and figuring out how to get our extremely shy kitty from point A to point B was daunting to say the least. We were so relieved to find Lorry at S.T.A.T., who drove our cat to Portland in our own car. She was responsive, patient, and sensitive from start to finish, including throughout my initial doubts about the recommended crate. (Which worked out beautifully, by the way - trust the expert!)

I was surprised at how emotional I was when it was time for them to leave, but Lorry was so compassionate she really put me at ease. We got regular updates on how Yoshi was doing, and I felt comfortable knowing they took frequent breaks and weren't spending extremely long hours on the road each day. Their time on the road also gave us the opportunity to finish up the move in CO and get to OR in time to meet them.

yoshi 2I wasn't surprised to learn that Yoshi never let Lorry touch him, but she did report the cute interactions they did have. I was also happy to hear he felt comfortable enough to leave his crate in the hotel room each night. His crate also served as a safe place when he wanted to hide.

I feared the worst, but Yoshi was just fine, and he was back to his normal self almost immediately. Lorry was worth every penny and we would recommend her in a heartbeat! If we ever had to move again (hopefully not) we wouldn't consider any other option.

Thank you Lorry!

Dear Lorry,
It has been three weeks since you delivered my sweet dogs & cats to their new home. Everyone has adjusted quite well and quickly thanks to the excellent care you provided on the almost 1,300 mile journey. There aren’t words to thank you enough. Your kindness made this transition much easier than our last move when the critters had to travel by plane. That trip was stressful for them and prolonged their adjustment period. The best testament to the difference you and STAT made to this move is the way my five-year-old pup tried to hop in your van as you were leaving. She is normally slow to warm to new people. Her attachment to you speaks volumes about how loved and safe she felt with you during your three days together on the road. Even the cats seemed pleased with your company. They didn’t give me the usual cold shoulder treatment after a few days apart. I truly appreciate your being so wonderful to them all. The older kitty can be quite difficult, but you won her over. She asked me to sign this note “Love and hisses, with sincere thanks.”
